We did it! Home Again in 2010!

Fun weekend - so much fun that I nearly had laryngitis! These are just a few of the photos from the weekend. Congratulations to Beth Solheim and Phyllis Columbus on selling a few of their books - they are great. Where did we meet? Where else but the Legion, the Spot and The Tent! Amazingly enough we were able to gather together for this photo in front of the library on Saturday night. Out of Staters: Jim Gagner and Mary Poirier Luke (Washington) Theresa Demarais Ricketts (Texas) - Judy Demarais Bauer (Wisconsin) and of course many from Minnesota and North Dakota. There are some not pictured who were also there - Diana Proulx Delorme and Deedee Cassavant Poole (who just retired after being a children's photographer after 25 years - imagine that!)
The town was indeed decked out right down to petunias in the toilet bowls in front of Wilcox Plumbing and Heating - I will post more pictures in another post as only so many are allowed at one time:) - oh the rules of Google. I will also gather more tidbits of gossip from a few others and post later. Missed all of you who were not there!

10 DAYS AND COUNTING!

Have had emails from several people. Yesterday Mike Ste Marie who regrets not being able to attend due to a family reunion in St. Cloud - says to say hi to everyone and have fun! I have updated the list of who has responded with a yes or no. The http://www.redlakefalls.com/ website link has been updated - click on Summerfest 2010 for details of events and schedules.

Hope to see you all there. There is a program at the school from 2-3pm and our group is planning to meet at the Spot sometime after that and then about 7pm at the side door of the Community Hall as in past years.

Good Morning from Dee and Beth:
I have received a few emails and phone calls from people excited to be in RLF for Summerfest. Why the title of this blog? There will be an "Author's Room" at the high school for all local authors to have their work available and sign autographs. This information was in an email from Phyllis (Columbus) Larson who in 2010 had 2 children's books published and I have preordered some for myself to be delivered in RLF:). They are titled "Grammy, Will You?" and "Happy Like Me".
Quote from Phyllis: I didn't think my life-long dream would ever come true, but it did. It took my getting cancer to do it. Imagine that!! I was really surprised to get notification from the Library of Congress that my books are on file there too!
Her third book titled "Wooly the Kid" is in manuscript form and awaiting illustration.

We just had an email from Jim Cyr - his email is jeemcyr@gvtel.com and he plans to be there - thinks he can fit it in as he lives just outside of Red Lake Falls and is retired.
